Yoga Therapy
Therapeutic yoga focuses on the use of classical yoga for means of treating mental and physical illness, injury and disease.  It takes into effect the entire health of the client.  Specifically, yoga therapy differs from modern yoga in that it addresses psychological and mental health issues and trauma that is trapped in the body rather than prioritizing getting fit or becoming flexible.  Based on traditional Hatha yoga science, therapeutic yoga focuses on the powerful relationship between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system- eg:  the flight, fight or freeze response or rest and digest.  In todays world our body responds to stressors on its own without the mind necessarily being in agreement with the appropriate and healthiest response.  This leads to a cycle of escalating symptoms in the mind and the body which can be difficult to unwind.  Therapeutic yoga can be extremely useful in collaboration with talk therapy when the client seems to be stuck.  By using the teaching tools of breath work, mindfulness and movement the brain is able to shift, reset and greater health and stability in the body and the mind is achieved through the science of yoga therapy.

Health Coaching
More than 65% of Americans are overweight, and it is estimated that by 2020 half of all Americans will have chronic disease.  Health coaching supports the use of lifestyle change involving exercise, spiritual practice, diet, relationships and other behaviors for conditions such as chronic stress, anxiety, weight loss, migraine headaches, constipation and arthritis, as well as many others. Instead of prescribing one diet or way of exercising, health coaching tailors individualized wellness programs to meet your needs.
